Run an 8th CPC projection

Start from your current 7th CPC pay, test a fitment-factor scenario, and compare current vs projected pay, monthly increase, gross salary, deductions, and estimated in-hand salary.

Use your current 7th CPC pay level as the base for the projection.

This is the current basic pay you are drawing under the 7th CPC.

This is not official. Use it only for projection planning.

Include any additional planning values for CEA, special allowances, or recurring components.

This page uses 4% as a planning reset-style scenario after pay revision.

Choose the city category you want to test in the 8th CPC scenario.

The calculator can auto-match a likely TA option based on pay level and HRA category.

Use only if NPA is relevant to your projection.

Include NPS, tax, CGHS, or any common deduction you want reflected in the output.

This estimate uses projection assumptions and should be treated as a planning scenario. Final 8th CPC salary will depend on the officially notified fitment factor, revised pay structure, DA reset, allowance rules, and any government-approved implementation date or arrear decision.

Note: This page is a projection tool. Actual 8th CPC values may differ depending on the final commission report, approval, implementation date, and official allowance orders.

How This 8th Pay Commission Salary Calculator Works

This page is designed for future salary planning, not final pay fixation. Start with your current 7th CPC basic pay, then test a fitment-factor scenario and projected allowances to see how your revised pay could look. If you want to compare with today’s real pay first, use the main salary calculator hub or go straight to the 7th CPC Salary Calculator.

01

Select your current pay level, basic pay, and the projection inputs you want to test, including fitment factor, DA reset, HRA category, and deductions.

02

Click Calculate Projected Salary to generate the projected basic pay, allowance breakup, increase over current salary, gross salary, and estimated net salary.

03

Use the output only for planning, then verify the final numbers later against official 8th CPC recommendations, implementation orders, and department-specific salary instructions.

Current 2026 Projection Assumptions Used

These assumptions make the calculator usable today even though the final 8th CPC structure is not yet notified. Use them as scenario settings, not confirmed pay rules. If you want to compare future pay with current salary components, the most useful follow-up pages are the 7th CPC Salary Calculator, DA Calculator, HRA Calculator, and Tax Calculator.

Reference Baseline

The projection starts from your current 7th CPC basic pay and current pay level.

Fitment Factor Range

Scenarios from 2.8 to 3.34 are provided for planning. The default selection on this page is 3.0.

Projected DA Reset

The page uses 4% as a practical starting scenario after pay revision. This is not an official DA notification.

Projected HRA Categories

X, Y, and Z city categories are kept as 30%, 20%, and 10% planning assumptions for comparison.

Other Components

Transport allowance, NPA, and deductions are user-selected estimates because final 8th CPC treatment is not yet confirmed.

What Is Not Included

Official arrears, revised pay matrix design, final allowance rationalisation, and government-approved tax or retirement changes are not built into the estimate.

Fitment Factor Scenarios

The fitment factor is the core projection variable on this page. Since the 8th CPC has not published a final fitment factor yet, the calculator offers multiple planning scenarios so you can test a conservative, base, or higher pay-revision case.

Scenario 01

2.8

Useful when you want to estimate a more cautious salary-revision outcome.

Scenario 02

3.0

The default option on this page for broad 8th CPC planning and comparison.

Scenario 03

3.14

A slightly stronger revision scenario for employees modeling a more generous outcome.

Scenario 04

3.24

Useful for comparing gross salary jumps and planning long-term contribution changes.

Scenario 05

3.34

A top-end planning scenario, not a confirmed government figure.

Use these scenarios to test salary planning, loan eligibility changes, and retirement contributions. Once you compare them here, many users move to the NPS Pension Calculator or Gratuity Calculator to see the longer-term effect of a higher projected basic pay.

Projected HRA and Transport Allowance Assumptions

The allowance settings below are used only to keep the 8th CPC projection practical. They are not official 8th CPC rates. If you need to compare current allowance logic before planning future salary, the best next pages are the HRA Calculator and DA Calculator.

Projected HRA

X Cities

  • 30% of projected basic pay
  • Use for major metro and highest-slab city scenarios
Projected HRA

Y Cities

  • 20% of projected basic pay
  • Use for large urban but non-metro salary scenarios
Projected HRA

Z Cities

  • 10% of projected basic pay
  • Use for smaller-city, semi-urban, and rural postings
Projected TA

Level 1-8 and Level 9+

  • ₹2,340 for the lower slab scenario
  • ₹4,680 for the higher slab scenario
  • ₹9,360 for higher-city top-end planning

This page does not assume final TA rationalisation because the 8th CPC report is not out yet. For planning after salary estimation, many users next check the Tax Calculator and Leave Encashment Calculator.

Salary Projection Examples

These examples show how the page behaves under two common planning scenarios. Use them to sense-check your own output before moving into detailed tax, retirement, or service-benefit planning.

Scenario Example 01

Level 6 Employee with a 3.0 Fitment Scenario

A mid-level projection for employees who want to compare current salary with a base 8th CPC planning case.

Current Basic Pay₹35,400
Fitment Factor3.0
Projected DA4%
HRA20%
TA₹2,340

Projected Basic Pay = ₹35,400 × 3.0 = ₹1,06,200

Projected DA = ₹1,06,200 × 4% = ₹4,248

Projected HRA = ₹1,06,200 × 20% = ₹21,240

Projected TA with DA = ₹2,340 + 4% = ₹2,434

Projected Gross Salary = ₹1,34,122

Use the live calculator to include deductions and exact rounding for your case.

Scenario Example 02

Level 10 Employee with a Higher Fitment Scenario

A higher-pay projection useful for comparing a stronger pay-revision outcome against current salary planning.

Current Basic Pay₹56,100
Fitment Factor3.24
Projected DA4%
HRA30%
TA₹4,680

Projected Basic Pay = ₹56,100 × 3.24 = ₹1,81,764

Projected DA = ₹1,81,764 × 4% = ₹7,271

Projected HRA = ₹1,81,764 × 30% = ₹54,529

Projected TA with DA = ₹4,680 + 4% = ₹4,867

Projected Gross Salary = ₹2,48,431

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the key questions people ask before relying on an 8th CPC projection.

When will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?

The Union Cabinet approved the Terms of Reference on October 28, 2025. The commission has 18 months from constitution to submit its report, so the final implementation date will depend on when the report is completed and approved.

Is the fitment factor final under the 8th CPC?

No. The fitment factors on this page are only planning scenarios. The final 8th CPC fitment factor has not been notified yet.

Why does the calculator use a low DA percentage?

Pay Commission transitions usually reset DA to a lower starting rate because the revised basic pay moves higher. This page uses 4% as a planning assumption, not a confirmed notification.

Are projected HRA rates under the 8th CPC confirmed?

No. The HRA categories here are scenario inputs for salary planning. Official HRA treatment will depend on the commission’s final recommendations and government approval.

Will pensioners be affected by the 8th Pay Commission?

Pay Commissions generally also review pension and retirement benefits, but the final pension impact can only be known after official recommendations and implementation rules are issued.

Can I assume arrears will be paid later?

No. Arrears depend on the eventual effective date and the final government decision at implementation time. This page does not assume arrears.

How should I use this page with the 7th CPC calculator?

Use the 7th CPC Salary Calculator to estimate current salary first, then use this page to compare a future 8th CPC planning scenario.

How reliable is the estimate on this page?

It is useful for scenario planning, not final pay fixation. Always verify the final salary against official notifications, approved fitment factor, implementation date, and department-specific orders when they are released.
